Exhibition “Inside an Antique Camera”

An interactive exhibition introduces early optical inventions.
Since its founding in 2002, ROSPHOTO has been introducing viewers to various phenomena in photography and unique author’s statements.

The new project is devoted to the technical side of light painting. The visual demonstration of the process of creating a photographic image and the evolution of technology through improvements in cameras and chemical processes would be performed for the first time.

A new exhibition in an interactive format introduces early optical inventions, for example, the camera obscura, the first device for obtaining a documented accurate image of objects, and the stereoscope, the prototype of 3D technology in the 19th century.

The central element of the exposition is an installation that allows viewers to “visit” an antique camera and, with the help of modern digital technologies, create their own portrait using techniques that imitate daguerreotype and prints on albumen paper.

Entrance to the exhibition is provided with a single ticket to the museum.
