Wel­come to X An­nual Con­fer­ence “Pho­tog­ra­phy. Image. Doc­u­ment” that will be held on­line by State Mu­seum and Ex­hi­bi­tion Cen­ter ROSPHOTO at 27 No­vem­ber, 2020.

The Con­fer­ence is a plat­form for con­struc­tive di­a­logue be­tween spe­cial­ists work­ing in fields of preser­va­tion and com­pre­hen­sion of ma­te­r­ial cul­tural her­itage and its in­tro­duc­tion into the mem­ory of cul­ture. Dur­ing the Con­fer­ence the re­sults of ex­pert stud­ies, which have been con­ducted by cul­tural his­to­ri­ans and philoso­phers, cul­tur­ol­o­gists, his­tor­i­cal source crit­i­cism spe­cial­ists, archivists, pa­le­o­g­ra­phers, art his­to­ri­ans, crim­i­nal­ists and nat­u­ral­ists de­vel­op­ing tools and meth­ods of an­a­lyz­ing pho­tographs and man­u­scripts, will be pre­sented.

The con­fer­ence pro­ceed­ings will be pub­lished in the forth­com­ing vol­ume of the “Pho­tog­ra­phy. Image. Doc­u­ment” Jour­nal. The Jour­nal is peer-re­viewed and pub­lished once a year. It is in­cluded in the sys­tem of NEL (RSCI).

The fol­low­ing is­sues to be dis­cussed dur­ing the Con­fer­ence:

  • photo doc­u­ment as an ob­ject of his­tor­i­cal and aes­thetic value;
  • dat­ing and at­tri­bu­tion of a his­tor­i­cal pho­to­graph, tech­ni­cal and tech­no­log­i­cal analy­sis and art re­search of a his­tor­i­cal pho­tog­ra­phy;
  • a his­tor­i­cal photo doc­u­ment in the con­text of vi­sual cul­ture: the re­search method­ol­ogy;
  • strate­gies of using cul­tural analy­sis of his­tor­i­cal doc­u­ment;
  • req­ui­si­tion­ers and ex­perts: cri­te­ria and meth­ods of eval­u­at­ing his­tor­i­cal photo doc­u­ments;
  • par­tic­u­lar fea­tures of stor­age and ex­per­tise of both dig­i­tized and born-dig­i­tal doc­u­ments and mu­seum ob­jects; the ques­tion of the au­then­tic­ity of dig­i­tal ob­jects;
  • cre­at­ing dig­i­tal twins and their using for ex­pert re­search of doc­u­ments and mu­seum ob­jects; the equip­ment for sci­en­tific dig­i­ti­za­tion;
  • in­ter­dis­ci­pli­nary ap­proach in re­search of cul­tural her­itage: phys­i­cal and chem­i­cal re­searches of mod­ern his­tor­i­cal doc­u­ments and pho­tographs;
  • photo- and op­to­elec­tronic meth­ods in ex­er­cis­ing process of doc­u­ments and mu­seum ob­jects;
  • the­ory and method­ol­ogy of ex­per­tise of his­tor­i­cal doc­u­ments, mu­seum ob­jects, works of art and arche­o­log­i­cal mon­u­ments;
