“Pristine Russia” is one of the largest and most fascinating festivals dedicated to the diverse nature of Russia. Launched in 2014, the Festival continues to attract an increasing number of admirers of Russia’s natural beauty.
This year, the central theme of the exhibition is ecology and the conservation of national treasures.
The Festival’s foundation lies in a range of personal and group photographic projects. Last year, leading Russian photographers once again took part in expeditions to some of the most remote corners of the country. The result of their work is more than 250 unique photographs of Russia’s wildlife, presented at the exhibition.
One of the key projects, “The Seasons”, allows visitors to feel the passage of time, follow the annual cycle of Russia’s unspoiled nature, and journey through many regions of the country.
The harsh landscapes of Yakutia and Khabarovsk Krai are captured in stunning images created by acclaimed landscape photographers Andrey Grachev and Sergey Karpukhin. The inhabitants of the vibrant underwater worlds of two seas, located at opposite ends of Russia, are shown in exhibitions by Andrey Shpatak and Andrey Nosik.
The photographic project “Preserving Nature” by Gazprom PJSC demonstrates how, while implementing large-scale projects and tackling current tasks, the company places great importance on caring for the environment. Gazprom operates the only corporate Environmental Inspection in Russia, which works to increase the efficiency of environmental protection efforts. The company’s facilities are located throughout the country, and photographs of nature taken by employees in the field always attract the attention of Festival visitors.
Unforgettable impressions await all who cherish beauty: the landscapes of distant, harsh, yet extraordinarily picturesque places: Chukotka, the Far East, the Sea of Japan, the White Sea, and Lake Baikal — captured by some of the country’s finest photographers.
A special additional program for both adults and children has been prepared for the festival.
