The State Museum and Exhibition Center ROSPHOTO invites you to participate in the annual conference Photography. Image. Document, dedicated to expert research and technical and technological analysis of historical documents and photographs. The conference will take place on 25–26 November 2021.

The topics for the conference include:

• photographs as historical and aesthetical objects; problems of authenticity of photographic documents; identifying and dating historical photographs; photography in the context of visual culture;
• preservation and expert examination of digitized and digital documents; equipment for digitization of artifacts for research purposes; creating digital counterparts and using them for expert examination of documents and museum objects;
• interdisciplinary approach in heritage studies: physical and chemical examination of contemporary and historical documents and their parts; photographic and optical-electronic methods in document and museum object examination, modern technologies and equipment for expert examination of documents and museum objects;
• restoration and conservation of photographic documents;
• history and theory of photography.

Conference proceedings (Photography. Image. Document: fid.rosphoto.org) will be published in a volume to be indexed in RSCI.

Applications are accepted before 1 October 2021 at: fid@rosphoto.org. Applications must include: applicant’s personal information (name, position, degree, name of applicant’s institution, contact info); paper title, abstract (up to 300 words), and 7-10 keywords.
