Ivo Mayr

About the author

Ivo Mayr was born in Fuessen (Germany) in 1975, studied photography at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts in 2000–2006. He started his professional activity as photographer in 2004. In 2007 Mayr received municipal scholarship as Koblenz city photographer.

Ivo Mayr’s series Passers-By was part of the Eighth International Photography Triennial Backlight (Oulu, Finland) in 2008. In 2009 Mayr took part in the International Design Week at Cologne Rhein Triadem, with his series Lightweight.

2005 Kodak Award in the nomination “New Talent” for the Lightweight series

2006 “iF concept” award at the International Design Forum

2008 Canon ProFashional competition award; International Photography Award in the nominations “Digitally Enhanced” (first prize), “Deeper Perspective” and “Fine Art” (honorable mention), Los Angeles
