Vladimir Tarasov

Vladimir Tarasov began playing traditional jazz at the age of 14 in the sailors’ club in Arkhangelsk. Over the years, he has worked across nearly all styles and genres of musical art.
A permanent member of the Vilnius ensemble GTC (Ganelin, Tarasov, Chekasin) — one of the most significant groups in the recent history of Soviet jazz. Today Vladimir Tarasov is actively involved not only in music but also in a broader artistic sphere. He collaborates with symphony and chamber orchestras in Europe and the United States, teaches and gives lectures in various countries, composes music for theater and film, and creates performances and installations.
