Barbara Klemm

Barbara Klemm was born on 27 December 1927 in Munster (Westfallen) and grew up in Karlsruhe.

In 1959 she was admitted to work at Frankfurter Allgemeime Zeitung editorial office as letterpress and laboratory assistant, while simultaneously working as freelance photojournalist. From 1997 to the 2004 she worked as photographer at the literature and political departments of Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

From 1992 Barbara Klemm is the member of the Academy of Fine Arts Berlin-Brandenburg (Cinema and Media Art departments). From 2000 she is a photography professor at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. Barbara Klemm currently lives and works in Frankfurt-am-Main. Since 1969 she has had over 20 personal exhibitions all over the world.
